Holi Festival

"Don't miss all the beautiful colors of the rainbow looking for that pot of gold" - Unknown.

Hola readers!
So yeah, Holi Festival? Some of you may know what it is or some don't. And I am one of them, before experiencing what is this festival about. All I can say, it is fun and colorful~

First of all...........

What is Holi?
Holi is a spring festival  (In Sanskrit is होली) is also known as a festival of colors or the festival or love. It is an ancient Hindu religious festival which has become popular with non-Hindu in many parts of South Asia, as well as people of other communities outside Asia.

What is the name of the color powder?
It is called the gulal powder. Not some shredded powdered crayon :P

What do you do?
Basically, people will think we just throw the gulal powder for fun, but the real culture behind this festival, they celebrated at a time of the year when the fields are in full bloom and people are expecting a good harvest. In social event, this festival celebrated by the non-Hindu as a part of such joyous festival where everyone gather together (we came as strangers), create a relationship between everyone and guess what, we make friends!

So after the festival, can the colors be washed out from hair and your clothes?
Hahahahahahahahahaha~ my high school tshirt end up in the dustbin!
But no prob for you to wash out the powder colors from your hair.
(Extra reminder : If you have blonde hair, it will take months to wash out ALL of the colors ;) ).

Are the colors very dangerous to your skin, eye....perhaps lung?
The gulai powder are not dangerous. But you'll need to cover your mouth with towel or anything (just in case someone accidentally threw the gulal powder to your mouth, and yes, you'll have a blue teeth and tongue like me =.=.)
And for your eye, you'll need to wear shades to protect your eye. It is frigging hurt when the gulal powder went into your eyeeesssss~

Overall, it was very fun and enjoyable to celebrate this festival for the first timer (like me!).
I would recommend this to everyone (if you're reading this, YOU MUST JOIN NEXT TIME!! ERRHHMMAAHHGERDD, *dramatic* XD). Joking.

But it was a total new experience of exploring the new culture, especially for a multi-racial country like Malaysia. And I'm thankful that I could be a part of it to join them to celebrate. Thank you to the organizer and strangerswhateverorwhoeveryouare !

Here are some nice pics that I found in Instagram with the #sdsholi (you can check on Instagram to look for more of the pics by typing the #sdsholi ) :D
(Credits to the people who took this amazing pretty pics!)

And I found the pics in my camera. Thankful to meet this wonderful yet funniest people :)

Last but not least, a short video throughout the whole festival (not really the WHOLE festival, but yeah, those craziness, laughter and fun.) Yeaahh, that's what I'm talkin' bout.
ENJOY

and thanks for reading. You may subscribe or share if you want! :P

More Than A Show

Another musical production and theater from my church, SIBKL, "More Than A Show".
After the production of Drunk Before Dawn, Season of The Year and Everworld, today, SIBKL celebrating the 20years of God's faithfulness!

"More Than A Show"
I was expecting something much more of the acting, dancing and singing like the previous production, but today it is something clearly showing more than just acting, dancing, singing.
They do have songs to sing, some hilarious acts (maaannn, they can really pull it off to be a great actor, especially, when this alfro-haired Indian guy so funny that his hair is just enough to make me laugh, XD) and
the musicians played their instruments, SO COOL.
In this production, they sang the previous production songs like "Somewhere Deep Inside" (one of my favorite song).

After singing some songs from the Season of The Year, a Musical Director came and direct the musicians to play, then later on, she shared her testimony on what she have been through for the past production, that she actually had no clue on how to direct a musicians because she have this low self confident and have identity issues. She was afraid to conduct the whole musicians and the songs but somehow, God tremendously change her during when she went to the practice for the Drunk Before Dawn production. She is now no longer the same old her, but now she is happily serving in PnW for the church especially production like this.

Next, would be the acting and the song. Now this is where the alfro-haired guy came and HE REALLY MAKE ME LAUGH UNTIL I CRIED. His acting is super funny, but his singing is not bad too!
During that acting, came a guy singing (his voice is so perfect to be in Disney cartoon movie) sang the song, "Somewhere Deep Inside". It is the same guy acted in Everworld! He sang just 2 or 3 stanza of the song and the light dim slowly, and then off. Came out his voice again, but this time, talking. The lights on, and he stood in the middle of the stage. He began to share his testimony during when he practice for the Everworld production. He is a very sick man, often go for a medical check up, went to 16 treatments in 6 different hospitals. And he is not very healthy to go around and stay up late for the practice. But thank God, people around him always watch over him and took care of him well. During the whole process of practicing, day by day, he said he don't feel much pain and God, once again tremendously healed him that he didn't realize he was healed. He don't need to take any medication, he no longer go for the treatments and feeling energetic when every time came for the practice! However, next day before the production, he began to lose his voice because he was feeling ill. When he sang for the last rehearsal, the producer was in shocked mode and began to look at each other with the directors, casts, crews and everyone so quiet. He said his voice was like a lil boy almost reaching to his puberty. It sounded really terrible and annoying, he said.  But the funny thing is, the producer, director, casts, crews were all quickly pray for him and even give him a water and a honey mix with lemon, well hopefully it can cure him a lil bit. But the result is still the same. All they did was just pray, keep practicing, and pray keep practicing and pray until tomorrow 8pm, Everworld production, the crowd was such a huge amount and even the top floor filled with all the audiences. That guy? Well, at least got a voice but not a voice to sing.
Then he began to sound so quick and loud when he come to this point of saying, "here is what the awesome part is.." He heard this small voice at his ear saying, "Just sing", and when he opened his mouth, he sang like some great singer in pop vocal group, II Divo. The crowd were amazed with his acting and singing. The Everworld production were produced for 8 times and he sang without any problem. And he end his testimony by saying, "Praise God for all the good works he have done" and sang the last few stanza of "Somewhere Deep Inside" song.

The final song end with the finale and all casts!

Something shared by Ps Daniel.

And so this is the end of my today story.......
Have a blessed day and thanks for reading though! Peace out \m/
